G-Vibe Noir vs. G-Vibe Original Review/Compare
If you follow my blog religiously you know I have reviewed for Funtoys before for the G-Vibe Original an you can read that review here!! Well the wonderful folks over at Funtoys reached out to me back in November asking me if I wanted to review the new and improved version of the G-Vibe, I accepted as I haven't really ever had a first and second generation toy so to speak. I was sent out the G-Vibe Noir Limited Edition in exchange for an unbiased review. While I will be reviewing it I will also compare it to the original design as well. This will be a little off the path of my regular reviews as I will link back to my original review as somethings have changed on the new edition but not much. I will still break it down in the normal sections that I normally have in my reviews. I will discuss the similarities and differences between the Original and the Noir version. The Noir is a limited edition and only 10,000 units were made made, so your vibe will have a specific number to it. So if you plan to order you better head over an pick one up soon!
There are many ways to use the G-Vibe Noir for those who are female or male bodied, both sexes can get pleasure out of this toy. Just like the G-Vibe Original the Noir can be safely used vaginally or anally when it comes to penetration purposes. For those who are female bodied you can insert both "ears" vaginally or one vaginally while using the free one for clitoris stimulation. Prefer your perineum to be stimulated instead of you clit, you can do that too or you can insert one 'ear' vaginally and the other anally. Males can insert one 'ear' while the other stimulates his perineum and testicles. You are also able to stimulate the clitoris, nipples, penis shaft and testicles.
The G-Vibe Noir can also be used as a couple's toy as well during penetration you can stimulate the base of the penis shaft or clitoris. Since each 'ear' has a curve to it, you could very well get G-Spot stimulation for the ladies and P-Spot stimulation for the gentlemen. Being roughly 9 inches long an having a girth of almost 1.5 inches at the widest part beginners or advanced users alike can enjoy this vibe.
The G-Vibe Noir is a rechargeable vibe just as the G-Vibe Original is. The Noir comes with a UBS charger that you can plugin to your computer or any USB adapter to charge via a wall outlet. The Noir should take around an hour or less to fully charge once the charge has ran down. When I received my Noir it already had some charge to it an charged fully in less then 30 minutes. Unlike the Original there is no flap to lift to reveal the charging port. On the bottom of the Noir you will see a small circle that blends in to the material, if you poke the end of the charger in there it will connect. When charging the control panel illuminates and flashes once the charge is complete your controls will illuminate a solid white color.
As mentioned above there are 3 motors inside this edition, one in the tip of each "ear" and one in the center of the shaft. Each of these motors put off a good amount of power an you can tell the difference between the Original G-Vibe and the G-Vibe Noir. You can't control each motor individually so whatever power level or pattern you choose all 3 motors will be doing that setting. While there is a great deal of difference when it comes to the vibrations in the Noir they are still pretty buzzy. I really wish they had deep rumbley vibrations.
The Funtoys Website states that the G-Vibe Noir is 100% waterproof. I would trust this one going in the shower more then I would the Original G-Vibe since the charging port is completely covered.
Packaging
As with the G-Vibe Original there was absolutely no skimping on the packaging of the G-Vibe Noir. The Noir comes in an elegant black box with a picture of the vibe on one side an the Funtoys graphics on the other. One side of the box looks very discreet til you flip it over then the photo of the vibe is seen. I love that it is super sturdy an can be used for storage or gifting. The closure flap is held closed with magnets.
If you don't like keeping the packaging your toys come in no worries there just as the Original G-Vibe the Noir comes with its very own toy pouch that will hold both the vibe and the charger! If you choose to toss the packaging since it is made out of cardboard you can recycle it instead of adding it to the trash pile.
Upon opening your Noir you will find it resting in a velvet covered foam cradle. This has a silver ribbon tab that you will pull up on once you remove the vibe. What is underneath? Well you will find 2 compartments that will be holding the storage pouch and the other will be holding your charger. You will also find the User Guide as well as a Post Card under the foam top. The pouch is made out of a thing silky feeling material, it is black with FT in a silver square on the front and at the top you will find pretty silver drawstrings. If you look in the corner of your box once you open it up, there will be an Object No. as they call it, this is the number your Noir is. Mine is #05996 out of 10,000. Only a small number of these were made making it a Limited Edition.
Caring & Storage
Being that the Noir is made out of silicone it will collect anything an everything it potentially can such as lint, hair, dust and animal fur. I know I haven't really mentioned that in my other reviews but, it is one of the main reasons I recommend to clean your toys before and after each an every use. Silicone is pretty easy to care for it can also be sterilized for sharing. If you plan to share make sure you sterilize between sharing as condom use with the Noir is pretty much impossible with its design. To clean you can do one of the following I will put a (*) next to the option that will sterilize your Noir as well as any other silicone toys you may have.
1.)Antibacterial Toy Sprays
2.)Warm Water & Antibacterial Soap
3.)Toy Wipes or Baby Wipes
4.)10% Bleach Solution**
Make sure if you are using soap or the bleach solution** that you wash an rinse your toys thoroughly before drying off an storing.
Make sure that your silicone isn't touching other toys as some materials can react with each other causing a horrible melted toy mess. You can store your Noir and charger both inside of the pouch that is included. If you choose to keep the packaging you can easily store everything inside the box as well. I personally keep all packaging from ALL my toys unless its a simple bullet.
Silicone toys are most compatible with water based lubricant. If you are one of those who prefer silicone lubes or hybrid lubes over a water based one, make sure to spot test on a part that doesn't come in contact with your body. If you have any reaction in the material with using a silicone or hybrid lube wipe clean an use a water based lube.
My Experience
My experience with the G-Vibe Noir was a little better then my experience with the G-Vibe Original, I was able to move the ears where I wanted them. With the Original G-Vibe the ears went kinda wherever they wanted since they were super flexible. The Noir was made of a stiffer silicone so it didn't flop all over. I could tell a difference in the power when I held the Original in one hand and the Noir in the other. The Noir has super buzzy vibrations that could cause a numbing sensation. With 3 motors inside the sound can be noticed if someone was in the room with you but I doubt it could be heard through a closed door. If you are worried others will hear it just tune in your radio or have the T.V. on. On a 1-5 scale for noise I would say it is around a 2 and when it comes to power it is around a 5 but it is nowhere near the power of the wands that are on the market.

Silicone is one of the best materials to get your sex toys made in since it is nonporous, latex free, phathalates free and hypoallergenic. Since silicone is nonporous you can safely share your Noir with your partner or between your own orifices if properly cleaned an protected. If you plan to share within the same session cover the toy with a condom which could be challenging with this particular shape or stop an clean it thoroughly so there is no spread of bacteria, If you are fluid bonded with your partner then there aren't as many worries. Make sure you sterilize between sharing sessions. Silicone has no smell or taste to it so you won't have to worry about off putting smells. Just like the Original G-Vibe there is no texture and the silicone is silky smooth has a satiny finish to it. A lot of silicone toys can have a draggy feeling to them when ran across the skin, I didn't experience that with the Noir. If you happen to end up with a drag apply a water base lubricant an you will be good to go.
ABS Plastic is another material used on this in the handle as well as the silver band around the base of the shaft. ABS Plastic is nonprous, latex free, phathalates free and hypoallergenic as well.
The silicone on the Noir is flexible just as the Original G-Vibe but the silicone used in the Noir is stiffer. The Original is plush an has more give to it where the Noir hold its shape better. The Noir is stiffer which is good as it doesn't give as easily as the Original G-Vibe so you are able to apply a little more pressure an get the sensation you are seeking. Being made of a firmer silicone makes insertion a lot easier as well since the 'ears' aren't as flexible they stay pinched together better.
Controls & Functions
Just like the Original G-Vibe the G-Vibe Noir has the same 3 buttons that control it. You have the (+),(-) and (~) these turn on. change the patter and turn off, the (+) and (-) also control your speed in the motors. The Noir has 3 motors where as the Original only has 2 motors. To turn on your G-Vibe you will push the (+) button you can either hold this down or push it multiple times to get to the vibration speed you are looking for. There are 8 levels of speed settings from very low to very high. To turn off or turn down the speed you will hold down or push the (-) multiple times to reach the lower speed level you are wanting to achieve. The center button (~) is to control your patterns if you are into patterns. There are 6 patterns including the steady vibrations.
