Lavish By:CalExotics....Is It Really Luxurious
For the month of March CalExotics sent out the Body & Soul Lavish as a part of their Sexpert program. I am sent a new item each month to review.
Overview/Use
The Lavish is a simple traditional G-Spot vibrator designed for those who are female bodied. G-Spot vibrators are intended to stimulate the G-Spot which can cause amazing orgasms once you find a technique that works best for you. Lavish is meant for vaginal penetration but, can be used to tease the nipples or perineum. Do NOT use Lavish as an anal vibrator as it doesn't have a flared base that will keep it from slipping into your anal cavity resulting in a trip to the ER to have the vibrator removed.
Due to the girth of the Lavish I wouldn't really see it as a beginners vibe unless you are use to being with girthy men. I have learned myself that even being with men who have a ample amount of girth, a girthy toy always feel larger especially if there is no give to it. Lavish measures in at 4.25" long and 1.75" when it comes to the girth.
You can get the Lavish in 3 colors:Blue, Pink and Purple. I received my Lavish in Purple.

Wish to travel with your Lavish no problem totally up to you in case it is found. When traveling make sure you remove the batteries so Lavish isn't turned on without you.
Material
For some people material is the least of their worries when it comes to buying toys. Many people myself include use to just buy toys on how they appealed to me an knowing nothing about the material and it's safety on being used inside the body. Since learning about different materials I prefer silicone toys. An you guessed it, Lavish is no different then my other toys when it comes to the material aspect. Lavish actually consists of 2 different materials silicone and ABS plastic with a PU coating.
So what does all of this mean? Well silicone is known for being nonporous, phathalates free, latex free, hypoallergenic as well as being able to be sterilized. A toy that can be sterilized is always great to have in your collection especially if you are prone to yeast infections or plan to share your toys with your partner. Nonporous means, that the silicone material will NOT absorb your bodily fluids into the toy. I will list how to sterilize the silicone shaft in the Care section towards the end of the review. I will mark the ways to sterilize with a (*) so you can tell the ways to clean apart from ways to sterilize. Silicone usually has no smell to it which is an upside to the material as well cause if you are like me you won't want to be sticking something that smells like a shower curtain in your vagina! Silicone has several different densities some toy are solid and others have give to them. The silicone that the Lavish is made of is pretty solid for the most part with very little give to it. Having little to no give to it the Lavish could easily feel bigger then it really is. Like texture on your vibes? Lavish has wave like texture up and down its shaft. You can also see that there are some spots that are indented below the waves. All of those spots waves and the indention are there for added pleasure while you are being penetrated.
When it comes to ABS plastic with a PU coating, those materials are also nonporous, latex free, phathalates free, hypoallergenic but CANNOT be sterilized like the silicone portion. Of course we all know that plastic is hard with absolutely NO give whatsoever which is fine since the plastic outer parts won't be entering your body. All the plastic parts are on the battery compartment cap where the controls are located. You will notice a silver ring around the shaft towards the bottom of the vibe. This ring is made out of plastic and it silver this helps aid in the waterproof feature.
Messing around the silver ring and outlines on the controls is listed as plastic with silver plating but it feels like it is solid metal.
Function & Design
When it comes to the functions of the Lavish you will first want to know that it operates on 3 AAA batteries that aren't included. Once you remove the battery compartment you will want to look super closely to make sure you are putting the batteries in the proper way. You can also take your Lavish into the bath or shower as it is waterproof. For the waterproof feature you want to make sure the clear O-Ring that is located just below the silver ring is in place as that is what keeps the water out of the battery compartment. I am not one to take my toys in the shower cause it usually ends badly. I do clean some of my toys off in the sink so if you aren't one to play in the shower you can at least clean your Lavish off in the sink with no issues. Both batteries and battery cap are easily removed and replaced.
If you like patterns, steady vibrations and speed control Lavish has all of that. To power on the Lavish you will want to press the tear drop shaped button in the middle with the whitish ring around it. When you power on the Lavish the whitish ring will glow this let's you know it is on aside from the vibrations. The center button also changes the patterns as well as powers the Lavish off. To power off you will want to hold the button down for around 3-5 seconds. The other 2 buttons are what controls your speed levels the left button as pictured above will lower the vibrations while the button on the right will speed things up. There are 5 patters as well as 5 intensity levels of vibrations. You will find below a list of the patterns as well as the level intensity on a 1-5 scale, 1 being the lowest speed and 5 being the highest.

In all honesty there is not much power behind the Lavish as I have seen in many other vibes from CalExotics. For those ladies who aren't power queens the intensity that Lavish offers will work for you. Lavish's vibrations are BUZZY and not rumbly. I can do buzzy vibrations for internal stimulation but not for external some women are the other way around. If you aren't sure if you are into high intensity vibrations this would be a good starting vibe when it comes to power.
On a 1-5 scale with 1 being the quietest and 5 being the loudest I would rank the sound level to be around a 2/5. With this sound ranking if someone were in the room with you they would possibly hear the vibrations even if you were using Lavish under the blankets. I found having it under the blankets made it louder. Lavish won't be heard through a closed door but if you are worried about someone hearing it you can always turn on the radio or T.V. to cover the noise. If you are using in the shower I believe the shower running would drowned out the sound of the vibrations.
I would have to say that the controls are simple and easy to use while you are playing. I didn't experience any issues with the speeds or patterns being changed by accident. Simple easy off if you need to power Lavish off quick. If you have to turn off Lavish in a hurry remember what settings you were using because Lavish has no memory at all.
Packaging
When it comes to the packaging of Lavish it doesn't scream luxury toy. Lavish arrives in a cardboard box that is pretty flimsy and not really all that great for storage purposes. Inside you will find the Lavish inside a seal plastic bag that you will have to rip open. I prefer to keep original packaging even if the inside packaging isn't all that grand at least I can store the toy inside the box. I am sure that my Lavish will find its way into a Ziploc bag since none of the packaging is suitable for storing the vibe.
If you are planning to gift the Lavish, the package itself isn't very "gift" appropriate depending on who you are giving the gift to and where you will be presenting the gift.
Lavish's packaging is also in no way discreet as it has photos of Lavish on the box. You can find information on the back of the box such as:

Care & Storage
Being made of silicone and plastic the Lavish is going to be pretty easy to care for.
You can use an antibacterial toy spray, antibacterial soap & hot water as well as toy wipes or baby wipes. <----Those ways will NOT sterilize your Lavish though.
To sterilize your Lavish as you can't put it in the dishwasher or boiling pot of water (this will damage motors even though the Lavish is waterproof, EXTREME temperatures will damage motors.) So since we can't use the dishwasher or boiling pot how do we sterilize the Lavish? You will need a 10% bleach solution 10/90 with 90% being water. You will want to soak your Lavish for 5-10 minutes and wipe clean. Once you remove from the bleach solution and you are sure it is clean you will then want to rinse thoroughly before use or rinse and dry before storing.
Make sure you are cleaning your toys BEFORE & AFTER each and every use.
I want to add that you will want to make sure you clean around the battery cap area with a wipe carefully as well as around the silver ring. Bodily fluids like to seep into those areas on all my toys that are designed with the ring and battery compartment cap.
When it comes to storing your Lavish you will either want to place it back in the original box it arrives in, a Ziploc bag or you can purchase a toy pouch from your favorite toy shop. I always try to use the original packaging and don't let me toys touch. It is said that if the toys are made of quality silicone you don't have to worry about them reacting with other silicone toys. I however, don't have the time to worry if any of my toys will cause a reaction with another so I don't let them touch.
Better safe then sorry right?!
My Experience
This is what it all comes down to.....
I am sure you want to know how the Lavish worked for me? I can say I was disappointed with the power that the Lavish had especially since I have 2 other Body & Soul items. I have the Rechargeable Love Bunny and the Transcend and both have pretty decent power behind them especially the Love Bunny so I had hoped the Lavish would have the same amount of power. I can say the BEST part for me is the curve for
G-Spotting since there isn't much give and curves just enough I can apply the right amount of pressure I needed. I love the way the Lavish is shaped because I didn't get a hand cramp or experience awkward positions to get the stimulation I needed. The girth was a bit much until I was fully warmed up and aroused an things went smooth from there. I personally couldn't feel the waves that are along the shaft while I had Lavish inside me. I will give this an overall 3/5 and I will list my pros and cons below.
